MOSCOW, Jan 31 (PRIME) -- Mobile operator MTS has unrolled a 3G network fragment at the Russia’s Antarctic polar station Vostok, which is now fully covered with mobile connection and the Internet, MTS said on Monday in a statement.

“Now Russian polar explorers at three of five year-round working Russian Antarctic stations have mobile connection,” MTS said.

The company deployed the first Russian mobile connection network at Antarctic research station Progress in 2020 and station Novolazarevskya with 2G connection in 2021 and launched a NB-IoT network at Progress for data transmission.
